Community event to highlight proposal for new children’s home in Fraserburgh

A community engagement event will take place on Monday, June 11 at Fraserburgh Leisure Centre from 7pm ‘til 8.30pm for members of the local community to hear proposals by Aberdeenshire Council for a new children’s home.

A planning application is not in place for the site; however the proposed location is on land adjacent to the current children’s home in Scalloway Park.

Social work staff will be on hand to answer questions and a presentation from the architects Halliday, Fraser and Munro will also take place.

The children’s home will accommodate up to six young people aged between 12 and 17-years-old.

Local elected members, representatives from Grampian Police, Aberdeenshire Council’s Education, Learning and Leisure Service and the community council will also be in attendance at the event.

For more information contact Aberdeenshire Council Social Work Manager (Corporate Parenting) Leigh Jolly on 01467 628308 or at leigh.jolly@aberdeenshire.gov.uk.
