PROVISIONS: Aberdeenshire Council are carrying out a programme of consultation and engagement until December 14.

Aberdeenshire Council is inviting parents, young people, school staff and other professionals to help shape the future of school enhanced provision in the
area.

The council is carrying out a programme of consultation and engagement until December 14 as part of a comprehensive review of how they deliver services to children with additional support
needs.

Services for children with additional support need are currently provided by Aberdeenshire’s four special schools, over 40 units, bases and learning centres, support for learning teams and specialist services such as sensory support and the English as an additional language teams.

Those who take part in the consultation will be asked to share their views about the current provision, as well as give ideas about how service delivery could be reshaped.

An on-line survey is available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/GRCY82V for parents to share their views until Friday, December 7.

In addition, consultation events will be held across Aberdeenshire in the coming weeks for
parents, carers, school staff and other professionals to attend.

The Fraserburgh one is on Thursday, November 8, from 1.30pm ‘til 3.30pm.

The venue is to be confirmed.

A report on the consultation and engagement findings is expected to come before the education, learning and leisure committee in February, 2013, along with a proposal for reshaping enhanced provision. It is expected that improved changes to the current provision would be implemented from August, 2013.
