THE weather stayed bright and the crowds turned out in force last weekend for the Rosehearty Community Boat Club Open Day.

The bouncy castle was pronounced a real hit by the youngsters especially, as was the face-painting and the balloons - which regularly burst causing all the elder visitors to jump!

Also keepeing visitors entertained was a game asking the number code cracked by two entrants and it would be fair to say that the youngsters had a variety of other options to choose from.

The ice-cream from Peters was much favoured, as was the cuddly toys by young and old alike.

The bottle stall was a real hit where the members of the never-ending queue were ever-ready to seek their chance of a special prize.

The cake and candy stall was a runaway success and the fresh fish stand was sold out very quickly.

Last but not least, and not surprisingly, the barbecue chefs were rushed off their feet keeping up with the demands of their customers.

The grand raffle, as usual, attracted everyone, young, not so young and vastly experienced, to seek a prize. It is fair to say that the day was a great success

The club is always seeking to recruit new members, so if anyone is interested come and talk to the leaders and find out more about their aims for now and in the future.

Lady members are in short supply, although they do not have to build a boat to enjoy their membership!

Finally, to all those who donated their time or their contributions the Rosehearty Community Boat Club wish to say a big thank you - it could not have been done without you.

As a footnote, a date for your diary - August31, 2013 – when it will all be happening once again - see you all there!
