WORK is progressing well on the refurbishment of the former Black and White Social Club, according to David Halliday, development and operations manager, with the Fraserburgh Develoment Trust.
The property is being upgraded and converted into a facility for the community as part of ambitious plans by the trust.

The group was awarded Scottish Government funding to undertake the project, which is costing in the region of £250,000.

Mr Halliday told the Herald: "We are well underway and are working on the internals to create office and other space for use by the community. We are perfectly happy with the progress.

"We are hoping to open this Spring and to be completed by then," he said.

He confirmed that the trust had been in discussions with a few interested parties regarding their making use of the facilities once they have been completed.

"We want people to come in and use the facilities," he said.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the new building and the facilities it will offer should contact Mr Halliday on 01346 510513.
