IN the Deejays Nightclub League, Bellslea closed in on leaders St Combs after beating them by 2-1.
St Combs started the game the better side winning a flurry of corners before Bellslea's Calder had a snap shot which went just over.

Fraser Watt then had a header brilliantly saved by Bruce in the St Combs goal. Neil Taylor should have given St Co
mbs the lead but managed to head straight into McRobb's hands from close range.

Peter Bruce gave the away side the lead just before half-time when he found space in the Bellslea box to fire home.

There were not many chances at the start of the second half with both teams canceling each other out. The game changed when Fraser Watt drew Bellslea level after Scott Bruce spilled a shot only for Watt to tap home.

Bellslea were reduced to 10 men after G. Summers was sent off but it was the home team doing the attacking. They went in front after a shot was deflected in for an own goal.

Ross Cardno must have thought he had earned a point when his shot headed into the bottom corner but Calum McRobb made a brilliant save to turn it round the post.

Clinton Thistle had Panasonic Tavern as visitors in a league match and it was the away side that came away with all three points winning 4-3 with a brace from Graeme Wood and one apiece from Ally Donaldson and McKenzie Geddes.

Replying for Clinton was a brace from Malcolm Slater and from C. Beddie.

Cheers were up against Crimond and a close game was expected and it was the home team which won 2-1 with goals coming from Paul Burnett and Stewart Whyte and replying for Crimond John Smith.

Invercairn United were up against Faithlie United and had to win to stay in contention for the league title - going on to win 4-1 with a brace from James Cardno, and one apiece from Jamie Forman and Gilbert Paterson jnr. Michael Fraser scored for Faithlie.

Fixtures for Saturday, February 13: Panasonic Tavern v St Combs, Invercairn United v Bellslea Fc, St Drostans v Faithlie United, Rosehearty Thistle v New Deer, Elizabethan Link Up v Cheers FC, Crimond Fc v Mormond Thistle, All Ko are 1.15pm.
