MEMBERS of the FISSH Fundraising Committee, would like to invite all the male members of the community from the ages of 5 to 95 years, to take part in this year's - UCAN / FISSH Sponsored Walk.
MEMBERS of the FISSH Fundraising Committee, would like to invite all the male members of the community from the ages of 5 to 95 years, to take part in this year's - UCAN / FISSH Sponsored Walk.
The event will take place on Saturday, 6th September,
2008, at the James Ramsay Park, from 12 noon till 3pm.
The day will involve each participant walking round a course, involving a lap system.
"So even though you don't feel like you can do many laps there is no limit to what you can do. There can be single participants or you can work with a team and have a relay!" said a spokesperson for FISSH.
Registration Days are as follows - Monday 21st July 2008 - 6-30pm - 8-30pm; Tuesday 19th August 2008- 6-30pm - 8-30pm, at the Community Centre in Alexandra Terrace, Fraserburgh.
"THE Registration Fee is £10-00 which includes your very own state of the art pants.
"And if you would like to decorate them for the event, there will be a prize for the "Best Dressed Pants!!"
"So come on Boys raise some money for two worthwhile causes - and have a great day at the same time!" she added.
On the day itself, as well as the sponsored walk, there will be various activities happening in the Park such as - Bouncy Castle, Refreshments, BBQ, Highland Dancers, Face painting, Colour Hairspraying, and much more for all the family.
UCAN - charity was set up in 2005 and is dedicated to raising awareness of Urological Cancers - including Testicular, Prostate, Kidney, Liver and Penile Cancer, and their symptoms - as well as improving support and quality of life for people in the North-East of Scotland who are affected.
FISSH, Fraserburgh Initiative for Swimming Sport and Health Committee, which was established in 2007, whose aim is to build a Swimming, Sports and Community Facility for Fraserburgh and the wider Community.
"So come on Boys, the Ladies raised a fantastic amount for the Moonlight Prowl - Breast Cancer - show them what UCAN do it!" the spokesperson added.
