Cheers Cafe Bar and Tavern are in the running to be named as winners of yet another top award, owner Dennis Forsyth has revealed to us this week.

The Broad Street bar, which will soon expand onto High Street, has won several high profile awards in recent years, the latest with the potential to name their outdoor facilities as the best in the country.

Mr Forsyth told us he was hopeful of making the finals of this award, sponsored by Magners Irish Cider, his establishment inspected by judges from the Scottish Licensed Trade News, Magners, and Hotsauce Drinks Ltd ahead of an announcement. Having won numerous awards already, the family-friendly bar is fast putting Fraserburgh on the map, competing against much larger premises throughout the United Kingdom regularly.

The bar has also helped local causes and groups, most recently helping Fraserburgh’s new rugby club by hosting a fundraising event for the team in the outdoor area for the fundraiser, raising a total of £738.76.

Those interested in joining the rugby club are asked to pass their details to a member of bar staff at Cheers Cafe Bar and Tavern.
