Cheers Cafe Bar and Tavern in Fraserburgh is celebrating double awards success, following two major industry accolades.

The popular Broch venue picked up the Scottish Thistle Award for the Friendliest pub/bar for the North-east and Tayside at a ceremony in Perth last week.

Cheers now joins three other finalists for the overall prize at a national awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow on March 15 next year.

The awards are organised by the Scottish Tourism Alliance and supported by VisitScotland.

In addition, Cheers Bar has also picked up the SLTN award for the Best Outdoor Area in Scotland.

Following the news, the bar’s proprietor, Dennis Forsyth, received messages of congratulations from the Director of the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce and Stewart Stevenson MSP for their Thistle Awards success.

Cheers Bar has also enjoyed fantastic success with their recent Halloween fancy dress competition, with thousands of Facebook followers logging on to see pictures of the participants.

The venue also held a Ladies’ Night recently, complete with ‘buff butlers’ from Fraserburgh Rugby Club, which raised over £400 for charity.
