  • Walkers enjoy sights around Cuminestown
  • Strong breeze does nothing to dampen spirits
  • Next walk on Wednesday May 6

Fraserburgh 50+ walking club were in Cuminestown last week.

The first stop was in New Deer, where members alighted from the bus to a balmy Spring day, warm with a light breeze.

As usual, the ladies of “The Mustard Seed” did the club proud with tea/coffee and lovely home-baked scones.

To everybody’s surprise, the balmy breeze had become a fairly strong wind and hats, scarves and gloves were donned quickly before setting off.

Lunch was eaten beside the lake there - an idyllic spot. There was a house built on the shore of the lake and everyone agreed that if they lived there they would grudge even making short forays out for groceries! On leaving the estate, the group followed side roads to Cuminestown where they rejoined the bus, having walked 6 miles in all.

The short walkers had a very enjoyable 2 mile walk on side roads closer to Cuminestown.

This was a completely new walk for the group.

The next walk, on Wednesday, May 6th, will be in the Rothiemay area. The long walk will be 6 miles and the short walk 2 miles. If you would like to join us on this walk, we would be delighted to see you. Ring 01346 582633.
