Sandra Kinghorn, president, welcomed members and friends to the September meeting of Lonmay WRI in Rathen Hall.

After conducting the business, speaker for the evening was Neil Godsman, farmer from Longside who gave a most informative and interesting talk and slide show on farming in Estonia.

Mr Godsman bought land in Estonia in 1999 and subsequently sent over farming equipment from Scotland to start the enterprise.

It was great to see the process and progress that was made over the years.

He then judged the competition as follows: an advert for a husband - 1 Julie Campbell, 2 Roberta Watson, 3 Helen Elphinstone; Geordie loaf - 1 Hilda Gerrie, 2 Erica Matthew, 3 Nannie Ruxton.

Julie Campbell proposed the vote of thanks bringing the evening to a close.
