Ghoulish goings-on at Cheers!

VOTING for Cheers’ Halloween fancy dress competition ended on Sunday.

More than 4,100 people viewed the 145 entries on the bar’s Facebook page over the last couple of weeks.

First place went to Andrew Pesic and Louise Kennedy who were dressed as ghoulish pirates. They were the out and out winners with 499 votes and won first prize of £70.

Second place went to Stacey Scott and Emma Carson who were dressed as the twins from The Shining and received 215 votes and a prize of £35.

Third place with 144 votes went to Lauren McWilliam who was dressed as a zombie Penelope Pitstop from Wacky Races.

Commiserations go to Gordon Pittendrigh who was fourth with 120 votes, dressed as the Red Skull.

Dennis Forsyth of Cheers told the Herald: “We had a fantastic turnout and unfortunately didn’t manage to photograph everyone. A lot of effort went into the costumes this year, heere’s hoping next year is just as successful.

The top three winners also receive a meal for two and a bottle of wine!
