Fraserburgh and District Men’s Probus Club report

The Men’s Probus Club met in the South Church Hall on Wednesday, April 22.

Jimmy Reid was on door duty.

The speaker was Barbara Buchan who gave an extremely interesting talk on her life during World War 2 in Fraserburgh and district, and in particular the bombing raids which took place during that time.

After many questions put to the speaker, the vote of thanks was given.

The Probus Club’s next meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 13, when the AGM will be held, followed by a slide show by member Andrew West.

Boyndlie SWRI AGM

Mrs Lorna Pirie President welcomed members to the April meeting.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved

Mrs D Robbie gave the secretary’s yearly report which was adopted and seconded. Mrs M Smith gave the treasurer’s yearly report which was also adopted and seconded. Mrs L Pirie then gave her yearly report before demitting from office. Mrs R Watson thanked Mrs Pirie for all her work and leadership during the past year.

Members from New Pitsligo SWRI entertained the company with brain teasing quizzes readings and a short play. Two New Pitsligo members acted as tellers and the new committee for 2014/2015 are as follows:

After a most enjoyable cup of tea raffles were drawn and Mrs R Watson gave the vote of thanks.
