Report from
St Combs WRI

Vice President Mrs Margaret McRobbie opened the February meeting of St Combs WRI, expressing apologies from Mrs Stella Buchan, president, who unfortunately could not attend the meeting.

The minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs Wilma Smith and agreed by the members.

We have not had a meeting since November but we attended our Christmas party at the Tufted Duck Hotel which was enjoyed by all who attended.

In January we went along to and joined Lonmay Rural at their Scotch Night. Everyone enjoyed their supper and being entertained by the Belly Band.

Mrs McRobbie then attended to the business. The schedule for next month’s Mini Industrial Show was handed out.

Mrs McRobbie asked if any member would like to take part in the Lonmay Church Quiz Night. We had a few members who would be willing to go.

Mrs McRobbie then handed over to the West Church Line Dancers who came along to do a demonstration. They did four different dances and kept everyone entertained.

Ava B. then gave us a demonstration on how to make flowers from voile which could be used for hair decorations, buttonholes etc. Some of the ladies joined in to try and make them with some success.

The Line Dancers were then welcomed back and they did another four dances with the audience tapping their feet and singing along to the music.
