Doggies set for Pink Pooch Parade to show off their talents

Talented dogs are certainly making the news headlines at the moment with Pudsey on Britain’s Got Talent and Bruiser on tour with Legally Blonde the Musical which comes to His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen this week.

And together with canine charity DAWGS. and Malmaison, Aberdeen Performing Arts are setting the stage for local dogs to show off their own skills and get in on the act, amid a flurry of pink bunting, party hats and winning rosettes.

For they are staging a Pink Pooch Parade at Aberdeen’s prestigious Malmaison on Saturday, May 26 to find the Prettiest Pooch, Handsomest Hound, the dog with the waggiest tail and best paw shake, the best dog with child handler and the best in show.

Dropping in to ensure there’s no ruff justice will be Aberdeen’s own West End star Amy Lennox (who plays Elle in the international award-winning musical about the blonde who ends up studying law at Harvard) and Niki Evans (the former X Factor star who plays Paulette).

And two of the show’s canine stars will be there – Elle’s Bruiser and Paulette’s pet bulldog Rufus – but not in costume as these will be required back at HMT!

Applications to take part in the Pink Pooch Parade need to be made directly to DAWGS. on info@dawgs.co.uk or tel 01224 208989 and entry costs a £5 donation to the dog charity – and you need to move fast, as space is limited and entries are limited to a maximum of 20 per class.

Legally Blonde begins a two-week run at His Majesty’s tonight, (Tuesday, May 22), and alongside Amy and Niki, the cast includes Les Dennis in the role of Professor Callahan and Ray Quinn as Warner.

Tickets for Legally Blonde the Musical are available online at www.boxofficeaberdeen.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.
