The Fire Fighters Charity is urging people to take part in the Red Hot Zumba Challenge
Zumba is a fitness sensation of 2011 and made a debut at the Invercairn Gala with a big family Zumba event. The Fire Fighters charity now wants you to get involved in the Red Hot Zumba Challenge, raising vital funds for the charity.
During the week October 29 to November 4, Zumba enthusiasts all over Scotland are invited to nominate one of their classes as a fundraiser and join the party. You could also arrange a dedicated Zumba fundraising event.
This could be run as a Hallowe’en themed Zumba, or encourage all your participants to wear something red at the class.
Money raised will help thousands of men, women and children from the fire service community.
Every 30 seconds in the UK, fire fighters are called to an incident, putting their lives on the line, and often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties. The Fire Fighters Charity is there to help all fire service personnel during their times of need, by providing pioneering treatment and support services.
Regional fundraising officer for Scotland, Jan Mattison said “Peak fitness is vital to all of our fire fighters, to ensure they can cope with the rigorous demands of their job.
By supporting a variety of fitness events, The Fire Fighters Charity hopes to encourage participants from both the fire service and the general public.
The Zumba challenge is one that is designed to promote fitness and also create a fun-filled party atmosphere which will leave everyone feeling on top of the world.”
It costs only £5 to register for the event, with a minimum sponsorship of just £30. Contact Jan on 07825 180961 or JMattison@firefighterscharity.org.uk, or online at: www.firefighterscharity.org.uk
