Fraserburgh Academy pupils are all set to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care with a fantastic accoustic band night planned for Friday March 25.

Pupil Connor Gault, one of the main organisers, told the Herald: “The event is called ‘Devoted to Music’, an accoustic band night and will be held on March 25 at Fraserburgh Academy from 7 pm until 9 pm.

“The band for the evening comprises Alan Henderson on Piano, Josh Williamson on Cajon drum and percussion, Andrew Pirie and myself on acoustic guitar.”

All mucial tastes will be catered for throughout the evenings entertainment, Connor continued: “We will be playing acoustic songs by well-known bands and artists, which we feel will appeal to everyone’s musical tastes.

“Throughout the night, we will also be bringing on singers to perform the songs with us, so far they are Craig Fletcher, Katie Barnett and Laura Scott.”

The enterprising pupils have been fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer throughout the year.

“We have been fundraising around the school at break and lunchtimes, and also at school concerts and parents evenings. So far, these have been very successful.

“All proceeds will be going to Marie Curie Cancer Care, an excellent charity which we feel does not receive the recognition it deserves.” added Conner.

Tickets cost £3.50 and are available from the Corner Shop, Mid Street, Fraserburgh, Body Matters, Cross Street, Fraserburgh, and from any of the band members.

People wishing to attend can also pay at the door on the night.
