Anglers to reel in cash for charity

Keen sea anglers from the Buchan area are being urged to support a competition which will raise money for Cystinosis Foundation UK.

Tony Miller of Peterhead’s Bait and Tackle has organised the competition in the hope that he can raise some extra pounds for a charity which he and wife Linda chose to support this year.

Taking place on Sunday, September 11, anglers are asked to register between 8am and 9am at the Broad Street shop and return again between 3pm and 4pm for the weigh-in.

A fee of £11 and £6 for under 16s who must be accompanied by an adult for the whole day applies, and includes a £1 charge which will go to the Cystinosis Foundation.

Winning categories include Biggest Catch which will receive 50% of the fees, biggest fish receiving 25% and biggest flatfish, also receving 25%.

Anglers can choose a spot of their choice from Cruden Bay to St. Fergus and can fish between 9am and 3pm. For more information contact Tony or Linda on 01779 474323 or go into the shop at 36 Broad Street.
