Appeal for witnesses following two vehicle collision

Grampian Police are appealing for witnesses to a two vehicle road traffic collision within Birkenhills, near Turriff.

The incident occurred about 13:11pm on December 10 on the A947 Oldmeldrum to Turriff road, within Birkinhills, involving a Ford Fiesta motor car, driven by a 77-year-old female, accompanied by two female passengers aged 78, and a Bain’s of Oldmeldrum service bus.

The 78-year-old front seat passenger of the Ford Fiesta was airlifted to ARI where her condition is now described as serious but stable, and no longer life threatening. The two other occupants of the Ford Fiesta suffered minor injuries and were treated locally. No injuries were sustained to the bus driver or any of the passengers.

Sergeant Rob Warnock said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are keeping an open mind. I appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward irrespective of how insignificant they may think their information is”
