Asda holds out for a hero!

The bricks and mortar have set, the signage has gone up and around 120 jobs have been created but Asda’s new store in Fraserburgh still has one more vacancy to fill.

The new Asda branch, which is set to open on August 12, is now searching for a local hero to officially open the store and be a VIP guest for the day.

Heroes can be nominated by family, friends or work colleagues and could be someone who constantly makes life better for people in the Fraserburgh area or someone who goes that extra mile for a particular cause or person.

Nominations are being accepted up to Wednesday, August 7.

Commenting, Asda Fraserburgh’s store manager Stuart Sharp, said: “As the newest addition to Fraserburgh, we will be tireless in our efforts to support the local area and will be launching our community life initiative in the coming weeks.

“To prepare for this we want to celebrate those individuals who are already playing their part and ensure a true local hero opens our store.”

The local hero will receive a £100 gift card and will take part in the official ribbon duties. A donation of £50 will also be made to a local charity of his or her choice.

Nominations for your local heroes can be sent via email to asdascotland@havasww.com, or in writing to: Asda Fraserburgh Local Hero, c/o Havas PR, 26 Palmerston Place, Edinburgh EH12 5AL.

When Asda Fraserburgh opens, customers can expect local produce as well as Asda’s popular range of own label brands. Customers will also be able to shop for the latest fashions in the George clothing range.
