St Drostan’s Church, Aberdour held a Baptismal Roll Service on Sunday, June 19.

The service, which was conducted by Dorothy Mair, Reader with Buchan Presbytery, saw more than 60 people who had been baptised over the years in the parish in attendance with family and friends to hear a very uplifting service on the theme of the ‘Water of Life’.

At one point Dorothy had the congregation in fits of laughter when telling of her exploits relating to water both at sea and at her second home in Florida.

The service was followed by refreshments which allowed everyone to spend some time of fellowship and catch up with old friends.

All those who attended the service were issued with a certificate to mark the occasion.

The most senior person able to attend on the day was Joe Rennie and the youngest was Evie Mutch and they were each presented with a small gift by Ruth Reekie whose idea it was to hold this most special day.

A number of the congregation also took part during the service, giving readings, singing and reading the Roll Call.

Church session clerk, Margaret Grant, said: “I would like to express my personal thanks to everyone who helped make the morning such a success both prior to the service and on the day itself.”
