This coming weekend - January 29-30 - the Fraserburgh Baptist Church on Victoria Street celebrates its 171st anniversary.

Special speaker for the weekend is Pastor Iain Duthie of the King’s Community Church in Aberdeen.

Iain is the only son of Jim and Margaret Duthie and was born and brought up in the Broch, spending his early years in the Baptist church.

He studied medicine at Aberdeen University and graduated in 1983. A year earlier, Iain married Elizabeth (Strachan) in the Assemblies of God (Fraserburgh) and they have five children, Rachael, Deborah, Rebecca, Julia and Daniel.

Before Iain entered full-time ministry he was a GP of a large practice in Aberdeen while continuing to lead and serve the local church.

He has had many roles and responsibilities in the Christian community of Aberdeen and brings many years of experience and maturity to leading the fellowship of the thriving and vibrant King’s Community Church. Iain is passionate about people and seeing them transformed by the love and power of Jesus Christ.

The weekend commences on the Saturday evening at 7pm with a social when there will also be the Assembly of God’s “Celebration choir” singing various musical items.

On the Sunday there are two church services as normal at 11am and 6pm at which again Pastor Iain Duthie will be speaking and the guest singer at both Sunday services is Fiona Buchan.

You will be made very welcome to join the church at any or all of the meetings. If you would like to find out more about the church visit the website at
