A charity calendar featuring near-naked bar staff will go on sale in Fraserburgh to raise funds for local charities.
Dawn Russell, the brainchild behind the calendar wanted to organise something unusual to help the families of two brave Broch youngsters who are battling against rare forms of cancer, Olivia Downie and Lacey Miller.
Speaking to the Herald Dawn explained that although she has organised several fundraisers in the past she wanted to do more to help, she said: “As a mum I can only begin to try and imagine how the families feel, but unless you find yourself in the same position the nightmare never becomes reality.
“For Lauren and Steven and Claire and Michael this is their reality, I really admire them for their courage and strength.
“My thoughts are always with them, their stories have really made me appreciate what I have.”
The calendar features Dawn and colleagues who work at Cheers Café Bar and Tavern where the photo shoot took place under the direction of professional photographer Cassie Tait.
Eleven brave volunteers came forward to pose for the camera in different areas of the award winning venue wearing only their underwear, promoting various beverages available including wine, real ale and malt whisky .
Commenting on the calendar, director, Dennis Forsyth said: “I’m not aware of any pubs in the area that have done this before and hope it will go down well.
“The calendars are generating quite a bit of interest with orders already being taken in the bar.
Congratulating the girls Dennis added: “They are all local girls who have made a big effort to make the calendar look very professional. I was delighted with the results!”
The charity calendars priced at £12 each are available to pre order at cassiektait.co.uk and Cheers bar. Dawn added: “We plan to make the calendar an annual charity event, choosing different local charities each year, so lets make our launch year a huge success!”
