The Invercairn Gala had so many highlights over this past week but one that has been fresh in the minds is the Bonny Baby competition held at the Gala.
The competition which was held on Saturday, the Gala day was judged by MP Dr Eilidh Whiteford who had the task of picking out winners from the three categories.
One of the organisers and secretary of Invercairn Community Support Group Peter Tait said: “The official opener this year was our local MP Dr Eilidh Whiteford who had a wonderful day and was very generous in her praise for all the efforts put in by all to make this Gala such a success.
“Her second task of the day is one of the most thankless ones, where she had to judge the lovely Baby Show, with all the eager, mums, dads, grannies and grandmas hanging on to hear if their kith and kin were winners.”
Dr Whiteford said: “It was good to see such a high turnout for the Bonny Baby Competition, and for the Gala in general. However, selecting the winners was an almost impossible task, as to my mind every child is beautiful. I am grateful to those who helped me to do the judging on the day. If it had been up to me every single baby would have won first prize!”
The results for the competition at the Invercairn Gala were as followed:
Up to six months: Alex Macrae; Corey Ritchie; Libby Reid.
Six months to a year: Jayden James Thomson; Tyler Stephen; Madison Scally
One year to two years: Erin Masson; Charlie Thomson; Jamie Buchan
