Gray & Adams Ltd have revealed plans to raise money for a paralysed employee by hosting a cycle run.

Contacting the Fraserburgh Herald this week, Gray & Adams Ltd said that the bike run had been organised to support Richard Hewitt who had become paralysed after a cycling accident in 2012

The bicycle run, which will take place this Saturday from the Gray & Adams Ltd plant in Fraserburgh between 8am and 8:30am will see operations manager Tom Taylor travel to Doncaster by bike.

It is understood that an internal collection for the event is currently taking place at the Fraserburgh plant which will be matched by the company to further boost any funds raised by the event.

Operations manager Tom Taylor, who organised the event from Doncaster, told the Fraserburgh Herald: “We’re just raising as much money as we can,” saying that the money raised would go towards helping to provide Mr Hewitt, who had worked with Gray and Adams Ltd for 21 years prior to his injury, with wash facilities in his home.

The 430 mile journey is expected to take Mr Taylor three days to complete.

Mr Taylor told the Fraserburgh Herald that they were not seeking donations from members of the public for this event.
