Organisers of the Blue Light Festival have presented cheques to those who helped out at last year’s event.

Sheree Buchan and Beldy Blackhall handed out cheques for £200 each to a number of local groups and organisations.

The groups which have received cheques are: British Red Cross, International Rescue, Royal British Legion Pipe Band (Fraserburgh), Belly Dancers, Guarana Drummers and 6.1.0 Dance Academy.

The organisers said it was a great pleasure to help all those people who helped the Blue Light Festival and that it is always lovely to see so many people come along and support such great causes.

John Anderson has been the chairperson for many years but now that he is retiring from the Fire Brigade he hopes that someone else will take on the role.

The Blue Light Festival are having a Prize Bingo night at 7pm on February 16 in Fraserburgh Leisure Centre.

Everyone is most welcome.

Plus, a Quiz Night will be held from 7pm on March 13, also at the Leisure Centre.
