Local bands Target 5 and Skizofrenic will be among the line-up at Peterhead Scooter Club’s 25th anniversary rally this weekend.
Speaking to the Herald Ewan Masson of Target 5 explained how the Buchan area has had a good scooter following for over 50 years, he said : “Peterhead has had a good scooter force since the late 1950s through to the 1960s when they ran about with the Moray Firth scooter club, then in the 1970s with the Peterhead Road Runners scooter club and into the 1980s with a small Mod revival.
“Peterhead scooter club, established in its current format in 1986, is still going strong today and after eight years of holding an annual rally organisers thought a 25th anniversary rally was well deserved.”
The weekend rally, which will be held at Mintlaw Country Park, will see local lad Mike Forman’s band Skizofrenic kick-off the celebrations when they play the Country Park Inn on the Friday night. Peterhead band the Adored will be playing in the camp site on the Saturday afternoon, with the Rudiments from Glasgow and Target 5 playing in the Country Park Inn on the Saturday night.
With the event attracting scooter enthusiasts from across Buchan and beyond with set lists that include songs from The Jam, The Lambrettas, Secret Affair, The Chords and The Kinks the audience is sure to be entertained throughout the weekend.
