A Fraserburgh man who cycled 160 miles from Fort William to Fraserburgh has raised over £1,800 for charity.

Robert Clark raised the fantastic sum of £1,835.43, including online donations, for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Robert completed the challenge over two days in September, cycling for five-and-a-half hours per day.

Robert chose to fund-raise for Macmillan having seen how much support members of his family have received from the charity.

Fund-raiser Robert is an accountant with Bond Offshore Helicopters, who made a generous donation towards his fund-raising effort.

Robert presented a cheque to Moira Gordon, who is a Macmillan Clinic Nurse Specialist, at Fraserburgh Hospital recently.

Commenting, Robert said: “It was a tough challenge but I was very happy with the outcome in the end.

“I would like to thank friends, family and work colleagues for their kind donations.”

Moira Gordon from Macmillan commented: “It’s a fabulous amount of money and it’ll go a long way in the local community.”

Robert is already thinking about what his next challenge will be.
