School pupils from Mintlaw Academy have completed a novel renovation as part of Aden Country Park’s County Fair.

The youngsters have refurbished a treehouse with a Jungle Book theme.

S2 pupils Sean Walker, Jay Shirreffs, Kieran Sivers and Ross Michie worked on the treehouse in partnership with local artist Melissa Arcaro of Arcaro Arts, Peterhead.

The treehouse was launched at the Aden Country Fair on Sunday, September 27.

The launch featured retired teacher Alex Mair adorned as a Jungle Book character.

Jay Shirreffs said that the pupils worked well together, and to see the work being appreciated is rewarding.

He said: “The treehouse transformation has been a fun project. We have worked together for quite a few months to finish it and we are so pleased with how it now looks.

“It feels good to have done something for other people to enjoy.”

Arcaro Arts works with local groups and moved into a larger gallery last year in the Blue Toon’s Balmoor Terrace.

The opening featured a ribbon cutting by Banff & Buchan MP Eilidh Whiteford.
