Aberdeen City and Shire’s flagship energy corridor, Energetica, was showcasing its progress in delivering a low carbon community at the UK’s largest alternative energy show last week - All Energy.
A 30 mile development corridor stretching from Bridge of Don and the airport up to Peterhead, Energetica is creating a new generation energy community based on low carbon living and working.
There are now six projects running in parallel that, when delivered, would create one of the UK’s first low carbon communities centred on energy research, technology and expertise.
To become a truly sustainable exemplar for Scotland and the UK, Energetica will adopt two strategic environmental targets: an 80% reduction of carbon emissions by 2050 and an ecological impact reduction of 66% for new developments.
Energetica is an Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Future-led project, a unique partnership between the public and private sectors.
