A Fraserburgh ice-cream parlour has been named the best in the country at a recent national awards ceremony in Edinburgh.

Partridges was named the Best Ice-cream Retailer in Scotland at the Scottish Business Awards 2016 on August 28.

Hamish Partridge, who owns Partridges with his wife Maree, said that winning the best ice-cream parlour was judged on a lot more than just the product but on the whole customer experience.

He said: “It’s more than just the ice-cream - it’s what we do with the ice-cream.

“It’s how it goes out to the customer - the wow factor - that’s what sets us apart.”

Partridges was one of two Broch businesses to be named the best in Scotland in their category as Nooks and Crannies also took home the title of Best Tearoom.

Hamish Partridge, who is also a Troup Councillor, believes having award winning businesses in the town can only be a good thing for the Broch.

Cllr Partridge said: “Two national awards coming into Fraserburgh highlights what’s in Fraserburgh, the quality that’s in Fraserburgh.

“It simply highlights that Fraserburgh has a lot to offer as it is competing with the big cities around Scotland at these awards.”
