A Fraserburgh project which aims to establish a community hub to assist socially-excluded people has been given funding by a European body.

The Fraserburgh Development Trust’s Here for You Centre has been awarded £148,126 by the European Social Fund.

The hub will assist socially-excluded people to become more financially secure and to participate in society.

Activities and programmes at the hub will directly address social inclusion issues.

Fraserburgh Development Trust will work with Banff and Buchan CAB, Aberdeen Foyer, Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action and Grampian Housing Association on the “one-stop shop to services and opportunities

Richard Thomson, Co-Leader of Aberdeenshire Council, said: “These projects will help to break down barriers for some of our most vulnerable citizens in accessing employment and financial security and most importantly, they will be delivered in the local community.”
