A new manager has been appointed to take over the reigns at the Tesco store in Fraserburgh.
Paul Clelland took up his new post at the Fraserburgh supermarket last month is already beginning to settle into the role.
Paul moved with his wife and family from Shetland to take up the position, having worked as the manager of the Tesco store there since 2008.
Paul started working at Tesco while he was still at university and has held many roles with the supermarket giant since.
Paul embarked on Tesco’s employee development programme, ‘Options’, and has been the manager of a number of their stores across Scotland.
Brought up in Yorkshire, Paul spent some time working in Tesco’s head office, where he was able to travel to stores across the UK. It was while working at Tesco head office that he met his wife, Emma.
Only a few weeks into his new role, Paul has been listening and learning from customers and staff alike.
Commenting, Paul said: “We’d been in Shetland for six years and we had to make a decision if we wanted to move back to the mainland.
“My son was due to start school so it was the right time to move before he started school.
“I’ve been spending as much time as possible speaking with my colleagues on the shop floor and getting to know my customers.
“The plan is to keep doing the good things that we do.
“We have some fantastic links in the community and we need to keep building on those where we can. And we need to keep looking for different ways to help our customers so they have as wide a range of goods and services as they can.”
