Rosehearty Action Group has a string of events lined up over the coming months to raise funds for new play equipment in the village.

The action group is putting on a number of events including family bingo with stalls, a shorts and shades disco and a magic show.

The family bingo evening is being held at Fordyce Street Hall, Rosehearty, on Thursday June 27, starting at 6pm.

There will be craft stalls on the night including Fancy Feet Socks, Fairytale Soap, Bow Tastic, Partridge’s. Refreshments will be available at half time.

Cost is £6 for adults and £2 per child.

From 2pm on Saturday, July 2, there will be a children’s ‘Shorts and Shades’ disco, complete with dancing and games, at Fordyce Street Hall. Cost is £5 per child.

Then, on August 3, Allan’s magic show will be coming to entertain the youngsters of Rosehearty. Further details on the magic show will follow soon.

The group hopes to raise enough money to provide play equipment, for a range of ages, at the play park on Rosehearty’s Union Street.

In the months ahead, the group is aiming to provide a quadruple woodland tower, costing just under £16,500, with slide, climbing nets, bridges and rock wall. The tower also includes a raised bark pit for maximum safety.

The group also hopes to raise enough for a 30m zipwire including bark surfacing and also an accessible roundabout with disabled access and mat safety tiles.

If the group is successful in raising enough to buy all three play units, the cost of the project is over £41,000.

Members of the group hope residents of Rosehearty and the surrounding area will support their fund-raising efforts.
