Call out for striken vessel

Fraserburgh Lifeboat Crew were called out to a stricken vessel on Tuesday July 12.

The Leith registered Speedwell experienced a loss of oil pressure on Tuesday morning and contacted Aberdeen Coastguard, who put the call through to Fraserburgh Lifeboat Station.

Coxswain Victor Sutherland told the Herald: “The call came in at 12.16 pm that the Speedwell was loosing oil pressure. The vessel, which had a crew of three onbaord was 3 miles west north west of Fraserburgh. The Lifeboat was launched and had towed the Speedwell back into Fraserburgh by 1.05 pm.”

No one was hurt during the minor incident.
