Children’s helpline launched for parents

Local parents and professionals caring for seriously ill children can now access information and support through a free helpline, seven days a week.

Together for Short Lives, the UK’s leading charity for children’s palliative care, launched its Together for Families Freephone Helpline and Advocacy Support Service for families, carers and clinical practitioners on Monday, January 6.

The development, resourcing and promotion of this service is being funded for the next two years by leading markets operator ICAP. The money was raised during ICAP’s Charity Day in December.

The Together for Families helpline is available on 0808 8088100 and is open from 7am to midnight, seven days a week.

It offers a one-stop shop for parents, other family members and professionals caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, as well as information on how to access support from the Together for Families advocacy support service.
