Cleaning up their town

Volunteers travelled from as far as Huntly and braved the wet and windy weather on Saturday to clean up Fraserburgh Beach.

The eight volunteers braved the elements and gave up their time to take part in a clean-up event at Fraserburgh Bay organised by Aberdeenshire Council Ranger Service, and the Buchan Countryside Group, as part of National Spring Clean month. A total of 445 items of litter were recorded and removed from the beach. The majority of litter included pieces of rope, cord and string, plastic drinks bottles, metal drinks cans and pieces of fishing net.
