North East Scotland College’s Foundation Carpentry and Joinery class was recently tasked with designing and producing a high quality hand crafted product as a team.
The students designed a ‘Highland Coo’ planter which has been named Gertrude.
Jim Saunders, Supported Programmes Manager, said: “The aim of the Foundation Course is to allow students to develop life skills, craft skills and employability skills. Working as one team with a common goal has provided the students with a huge sense of achievement plus they now have an understanding of construction techniques and working safely. Congratulations to Ian Donaldson, Philip Summers, Graham Tocher, Blair Brown, Jim Skelton, Steven Summers, William Kidd and Nathan Cook who participated in this task.”
Gertrude is due to be relocated to the Aberdeen Clinterty Campus.
