College students showcase their art and design work

Students at Banff and Buchan College will showcase their work in art and design and floristry and horticulture at the annual students exhibition 2011.

This event will take place at the college’s main campus on Henderson Road Fraserburgh in the games hall.

It provides an opportunity for students to showcase their work and members of the public will have a chance to purchase unique pieces of art.

Lecturer, Laura Muir, said “The exhibition this year contains work from Prevocational Art & Design, Access to Art & Design and our two HNC courses; HNC Art & Design and HNC Computer Art & Design.

“There will also be work on show from Floristry and Horticulture students, ESOL students and our Adult Extension Programmes.

“Each mainstream course awards a ‘Best Student’ and ‘Most Improved Student’, and there is also an award for ‘Best Exhibit in the Show, announced on the opening night.”

The exhibition will open for private viewings on Tuesday evening then will be open to the general public from 9am to 9pm on Wednesday June 8 and 9am to 1pm on Thursday June 9.
