Scottish charity, Cornerstone, have today thanked Aberdeenshire Council employees for their generous gift donations from their Christmas Giving Tree.

Aberdeenshire Council’s Provost Jill Webster handed over the donated presents to Cornerstone Chief Executive Edel Harris this week.

Chief Executive, Cornerstone, Edel Harris said: “We are extremely grateful to Aberdeenshire Council for this kind gesture and would like to extend our greatest thanks to council employees.”

“Our aim is to enable the people we support to enjoy a valued life and I know they will be thrilled to receive a special gift this Christmas.”

The Christmas Giving Tree gave employees an opportunity to donate a gift and/or money to support Cornerstone’s efforts. Cornerstone provides care and support services for adults, young people and children across Scotland who live with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health problems and other support needs.

Aberdeenshire Provost Jill Webster said, “Cornerstone is a fantastic charity and we are honoured to help support their Day Opportunities and Children’s Services.

“It is a wonderful feeling knowing that the gifts our offices have collected will be used to help people with disabilities have a Merry Christmas.”

Earlier this month, Provost Jill Webster had chosen Cornerstone as the charity to donate to, saying: “Cornerstone is a fantastic charity and we are honoured to help support their Day Opportunities and Children’s Services. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that the gifts our offices collect will be used to help people with disabilities have a Merry Christmas.”
