Banff and Buchan Councillors will, on Tuesday, hear about the progress being made on a cycling project in Fraserburgh.

The 10 councillors who represent the area, which includes Fraserburgh and district, will meet for the monthly Banff and Buchan Area Committee.

Discussing the project, a report dealing with IDEA (Inclusive Day Services Enabling Aberdeenshire) will detail the progress being made on the redesign of adult day services at a local level.

The Fraserburgh District Inclusive Cycling and Countryside Access Project “will provide access to adapted bicycles for people who cannot use standard bicycles.

“The project will support people with disabilities to gain skills, confidence, have access to physical activity with social, therapeutic and health benefits.

“An additional aspect of the project will be setting up a bicycle repair and maintenance business which will provide opportunities for employability skills development as well as providing a needed service in the community,” the report says.
