An 18-year-old male has been charged following the recovery of £6,000 worth of diamorphine and 'crack' cocaine in Fraserburgh.

A second 18-year-old was also arrested and charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The drug seizure took place on Thursday September 22 in Fraserburgh's town centre.

Constable Grant James of the North East Division Proactive Unit, said: "This recovery was an intelligence led investigation under the ongoing Operation Aspen which is a sustained and concentrated operation relating to all Drug Activity in the North East of Scotland.

"This recovery illustrates the commitment to tackling controlled drugs and organised crime in our Policing area."

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and both men will appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court today, Friday September 23.
