AMENDMENT: Fraserburgh doctor suspended for 2 months

Due to the information originally sent to the Fraserburgh Herald by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) it was reported that Dr Martin Thom of Saltoun Surgery in Fraserburgh was suspended for a period of 12 months.

However a further communication from the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service has revealed that this was in fact an error on their part and that Dr Thom has actually been suspended for a period of 2 months.

The 2 month suspension will come into effect within 28 days of him receiving written confirmation of the Tribunal's decision, unless he decided to appeal.

The Herald apologises to Dr Thom for this mistake which was ultimately outside our control.
