Police were called to investigate after human bones were found in Fraserburgh - at the cemetery.
Officers were alerted to the find at Kirkton cemetery on Monday July 4 after a council worker unearthed bones in an area of the cemetery not yet designated for graves.
However upon inspection it was discovered that the bones were archaeological and that there was nothing suspicious regarding the discovery.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a concern call from local authority workers after bones were found at Kirkton Cemetery, Fraserburgh on July 4, 2016.
“Enquiries were carried out and it was established there is no suspicious circumstances and that the bones are archaeological.”
It is believed that the remains may have been moved from another plot in the cemetery over time.
