CCTV footage of missing Shaun Ritchie taken on the day he was last seen has been released to media three weeks on from when he went missing.
Specialist searches for the 20-year-old are continuing with teams tackling challenging terrain in a bid to trace his last movements.
Extensive searches have been carried out in open areas, woodland and waterways as part of efforts to trace Shaun.
Inspector Alan Brown of the Community Policing Team based in Fraserburgh said: “We are continuing with assistance from specialist resources. It is now more than three weeks since Shaun was last seen after he had been for a night out on Friday, October 31, and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.
“We are hoping that with it being the three-week mark people’s memories may be jogged and they may remember seeing something that might help the enquiry. It is possible that Shaun has tried to seek shelter and we would again appeal to farmers in the area and members of the public, to check their sheds and outbuildings.
“We would ask that anyone who has any piece of information in relation to Shaun’s whereabouts to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
The recovery of clothing worn by Mr Ritchie has proved the most significant breakthrough so far in the search. Police believe he may have developed hypothermia and removed his clothing when disorientated.
