Man charged after prison van overturns

A G4S PRISONER TRANSPORT VAN TAKING A CUSTODY TO ABERDEEN SHERIFF COURT OVERTURNED ON THE A952 NEAR THE CORTES JUNCTION. A 49-year-old man has been charged after a prison van overturned on the A952 road from Fraserburgh in October.

The G4S prisoner van had been travelling from Fraserburgh police custody unit to Aberdeen Sheriff Court when the incident occurred on October 20.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that a 49-year-old man had been charged in relation to the incident and that a report had been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

One prisoner and three G4S workers had been travelling when the van overturned on the road near Cortes.
