Man charged with spate of Broch thefts

A 37-year-old male has been charged in connection with a spate of thefts in the Fraserburgh area.

The incidents, which occurred in May, include an alleged sneak-in theft, a theft by housebreaking, theft by shoplifting and an attempted theft by housebreaking at community and commercial premises in the area and two private properties.

The male - from Fraserburgh - is expected to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court today (Wednesday June 1, 2016).

DC Richard Barnwell, who led the investigation, said: “Thank you to all members of the public who helped with these inquiries and provided officers with information.
