Officers in Fraserburgh have conducted an operation to tackle illegal parking in the town and improve road safety around local schools as part of the Operation CEDAR initiative.
Over 60 parking tickets were issued for illegal parking across the town, five of which were given outside primary schools in the area.
Three drivers were charged for speeding, driving without wearing a seatbelt and driving without an MOT.
PC Wayne Bedford, who ran the operation, said: “I am pleased with the response we have had from the public during the past week.
“There have been numerous positive comments posted on social media sites and we have had some very encouraging interactions with the public while we’ve been out on our patrols.”
Operation CEDAR (Challenge, Educate, Detect and Reduce) is an ongoing road safety campaign designed to encourage drivers to take more responsibility on the regions roads.
