The family of missing person Shaun Ritchie have issued a statement in which they speak of the ‘nightmare’ of the six days since he disappeared.
Shaun Ritchie, 20, was last seen on Friday, October 31, and was wearing dark grey skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, a grey hoodie and brown trainers when last seen.
In the statement, Shaun’s family said: “With every passing day we’re becoming more and more worried about Shaun.
“We all love him dearly and the last six days have been a nightmare, for all his family and friends, not knowing where he is.
“If anyone knows anything about where Shaun is, if they saw him last Friday night or since then, we’d ask them please, please get in touch with the police and give them any information you may have.”
Police Scotland officers continued to search the area on Thursday, November 6, around the area where Shaun was last seen between Strichen and the A98 Fraserburgh to Banff Road on Friday, October 31.
Community Policing Inspector George Cordiner said: “As time passes we are increasingly concerned for Shaun’s safety.
“Our search for Shaun continues involving a number of specialist resources including the marine unit and search dogs. We’d also like to ask people living in and around the area to check garden sheds or outhouses or areas where someone might have taken shelter.
“We’re appealing to the public to come forward with any information they may have about Shaun’s whereabouts. We’re asking people to think back to last Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday morning. If you were driving on the A98 Fraserburgh to Strichen Road did you see Shaun? If so please come forward with that information.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
