The daughter of a Fraserburgh woman who was tragically killed in a road accident near Mintlaw has made a donation to a North-east charity in her mother’s memory.

Roseleen Kelly presented a cheque to the Buchan RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) in memory of her mum, Margaret Watson, who was killed in a road traffic collision at the Hythie junction near Mintlaw earlier this year.

Margaret was a founding member of the Buchan RDA when it was established in 1982. Horses, riding and the RDA were always close to Margaret’s heart.

Margaret’s daughter, Roseleen, presented a cheque for £1,530 to the Buchan RDA at the Ladymire Equestrian Centre, near Ellon, recently.

The donation was raised from the proceeds of a collection at Margaret’s funeral.

During the presentation, pupils from Westfield School in Fraserburgh were in attendance and riding the horses at Ladymire.

Commenting on the donation, RDA trustee Barbara Baillie said: “I think it’s a wonderful thing to do.

“Margaret was a fouding member of the Buchan Group RDA and I think it’s a wonderful thing for Roseleen to think of us at such a time of tragedy.”

Roseleen commented: “I’m pleased to be making the donation in memory of my mum.

“It was a charity she always enjoyed supporting. It was very close to her heart.”
