Rosehearty was one of the latest in a series of consultation events being held across Aberdeenshire to raise awareness of the Local Development Plan’s Main Issues Report.
A meeting at the Davron Hotel opened with a presentation by Senior Policy Planner Alan Davidson, who outlined what the Main Issues Report is along with the process to produce the next Local Development Plan.
He also emphasised the importance of making a submission to the Main Issues Report as the main opportunity to get involved.
Fiona Thompson, Policy Planner, discussed existing land allocations in Rosehearty, and Sandhaven and Pitullie.
Following the presentations, there was discussion about the local Regeneration Priority Area and the effect this will have on Rosehearty and surrounding areas. The meeting heard that the council’s Regeneration Strategy is focusing its efforts in Fraserburgh.
There was also discussion about the existing protected sites in Rosehearty. One member of the public suggested there should be another protected site to the west of the village and was advised to make a written submission, as with any issues.
Questions were raised about road infrastructure and the need to improve it to provide better linkages in north Aberdeenshire. Existing allocations in the local area were also discussed, along with the lack of progress on these sites.
